Bonnenfant Y Outdoor Centre

The Bonnenfant Y Outdoor Centre (BYOC) is located ten minutes north of Kanata on 30 acres of field, forest and rugged Ottawa River shoreline. Open year-round, the BYOC specializes in education and leadership programs for school groups, community organizations and professionals, and offers a variety of experiential, curriculum-driven outdoor education programs that can be tailored to the individual needs of any group.

BYOC is well-equipped to serve the needs of your group. Facilities can accommodate 15-300 participants for a single day program, and up to 100 people in cabin accommodations and 50 in tents for overnight programs. Please note tents are not provided.  

On-site facilities include:

  • Variety of sleeping cabins, from rustic summer cabins without power to fully winterized cabins
  • Two low ropes courses, a high ropes course, and a climbing wall
  • Network of maintained hiking/skiing trails
  • Full-service dining chalet and kitchen
  • Refurbished waterfront and beach area with a fleet of kayaks and canoes
  • Several classrooms and out-buildings to accommodate indoor programming requirements
