Meeting Rooms and Accommodations

Let us host your next group meeting, conference, or retreat!


The Bonnenfant Y Outdoor Centre (BYOC) is the perfect location for your conference, staff retreat, group event or meeting. We offer a variety of meeting venues and programs ideal for corporate groups, church groups, community organizations, school groups, and more! Located on 30 acres of field, forest, trails and rugged shoreline on the Ottawa River, the BYOC is only a 30 minute drive from downtown Ottawa and 10 minutes from Kanata.


Program Options
 
The extent of our involvement in your schedule is up to you. Some activities available include canoeing, kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, teambuilding, and full food service. See below for program option outlines.

Facilitated by our staff. We will work with you to develop a program and schedule that best suits the needs of your group. Our qualified staff will facilitate a program with options that include: teambuilding, environmental and/or recreational activities.

Our staff will supplement your agenda with teambuilding, environmental and/or recreational activities, according to a schedule arranged in advance by your group leader and our outdoor centre director.

If you are simply looking for a meeting location, we can provide you with the room(s), food service and equipment.

Should you require a full-meal or simply snacks, tea and coffee, staff at the outdoor centre can meet the needs of your group. We can accommodate special requirements or diets upon request when you book with us.


Meeting and Break-out Rooms, and Outdoor Gathering Spaces

BYOC is well equipped to serve the diverse needs of your group. Facilities can accommodate 15 to 300 participants for a single day program, up to 80 for overnight programs, and 30-40 for tenting accommodations. See below for accommodation options.

Most recently built, the Laishley Lodge is a large building with three large rooms. The Fireside Room includes a wood burning fireplace and can accommodate up to 50 people. The second upstairs room is a large open space with a capacity of 150 people. The third room is on the lower level and can accommodate up to 60 people.
 
This building has washrooms, has a front covered porch, a wonderful porch overlooking the Ottawa River, is fully heated and wheelchair accessible.
The Chalet has one large room with windows overlooking the Ottawa River for full food service including coffee, tea and snacks. The Chalet can accommodate up to 90 people. Washrooms are also available.

In the same building are two smaller rooms. Both smaller rooms can accommodate up to 12 people and have a small servery for coffee and snack stations.  

These are outdoor pavilion spaces covered by a roof. They include picnic tables and are a great option for outdoor meetings or small BBQ’s for up to 30 people.

This classroom has a capacity of 35 people and is heated with a covered outdoor porch. 


Parking: The Bonnenfant Y Outdoor Education and Leadership Centre has free parking for over 150 vehicles.
