Starting Tuesday, September 1, the YMCA of the National Capital Region is offering new recreation-based After School Programs at three Ottawa schools in partnership with Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB). We’re looking forward to giving your child safe, high-quality care from the end of the school day until pickup.

Registration remains open throughout the year.
Currently, the program only runs during these times at our Churchill Alternative School location.
We will update families when this can be accommodated at other locations.
Children from any schools are welcome to attend. Parents are responsible for ensuring safe drop-off at the location. Additional locations are also being confirmed – please email afterschool@ymcaottawa.ca to express your interest.
This will be covered in the family information package that you will receive after application.
We offer programming that supports children's growth, well-being, independence, and sense of belonging. Through a balance of recreation, leadership opportunities, life skills development, and community connection, participants will have opportunities to:
- Build friendships and connect with peers
- Explore recreation, sports, games, and creative activities
- Develop practical life skills and leadership abilities
- Participate in child-led projects and community-building experiences
- Strengthen confidence, independence, and social-emotional skills

Katimavik and Terry Fox serve an older age group that focuses on skill-based programming that includes special guests and outings. These prices help cover some of these additional costs.
