Starting Tuesday, September 1, the YMCA of the National Capital Region is offering new recreation-based After School Programs at four Ottawa schools in partnership with Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB). We’re looking forward to giving your child safe, high-quality care from the end of the school day until pickup.

Children from any schools are welcome to attend. Parents are responsible for ensuring safe drop-off at the location. Additional locations are also being confirmed – please email afterschool@ymcaottawa.ca to express your interest.

We offer programming that supports children's growth, well-being, independence, and sense of belonging. Through a balance of recreation, leadership opportunities, life skills development, and community connection, participants will have opportunities to:
- Build friendships and connect with peers
- Explore recreation, sports, games, and creative activities
- Develop practical life skills and leadership abilities
- Participate in child-led projects and community-building experiences
- Strengthen confidence, independence, and social-emotional skills

Katimavik and Terry Fox serve an older age group that focuses on skill-based programming that includes special guests and outings. These prices help cover some of these additional costs.
