YMCA of the National Capital Region and impark logos.

Effective April 1, 2026, Impark will assume responsibility for the parking services at 180 Argyle Avenue. Market parking rates will remain under the control of YMCA.

Impark has been instructed to deactivate the existing parking control equipment (including gates) and introduce a cashless, mobile application-based parking program for the facility. Payment equipment and gates will be deactivated resulting in a seamless entry and exit for all parkers.

Paid daily parkers must complete payment upon arrival, effective April 1, 2026.

All parkers will exit by driving slowly toward the garage exit door on Argyle, which will automatically rise once your vehicle triggers the sensor. Please wait for the door to fully rise before exiting the garage.
YMCA staff will be available on the first day to assist building users with the new system.

(Primarily YMCA Housing residents, YMCA staff, and others working in the building)

Currently-registered monthly parkers will continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to the garage. Impark has prepared new parking permits (“hangtags”) that must be displayed in the vehicle on each visit to the parking garage. The permits can be collected from the Housing Front Desk in the lobby of 180 Argyle Avenue starting April 1, 2026.

Monthly parkers must share any future changes (e.g., a new vehicle or plate) with the Housing Front Desk via 613-237-1320 ext. 0 or christopher.friesen@ymcaottawa.ca to ensure your vehicles are properly registered. For those paying for their monthly parking through the YMCA, you will continue using the same payment systems for your access. You will not pay Impark directly for your monthly parking pass.

HFA members are entitled to a 50% discount on the parking rate for up to three hours. Members will use the QR code posted at the Membership Desk to enjoy the discounted parking rates. After scanning the QR code, members can select the duration of their parking session, register their vehicle plate, and complete the payment all through their mobile phone.

NOTE - no other payment methods are available for hourly/daily parking at 180 Argyle Avenue. Payment must be completed upon arrival in order to remain parked in the facility.

Parents dropping off and collecting their children will continue to enjoy a 30-minute grace period for parking. Impark will provide Drop-Off permits that will be valid during the drop-off and pick-up times each weekday. Drop-Off Permits can be picked up from the Housing Front Desk starting April 1, 2026. Permits must be displayed while dropping off or collecting the child(ren) from the program each day.

Parking for longer than the grace period will require the purchase of additional parking time through the mobile-based QR code posted throughout the garage and in the Housing lobby.

For those paying for hourly or daily parking, payment will only be accepted through the mobile QR signage posted throughout the garage and in the Housing lobby. Customers will scan the QR code, select the duration of their parking session, register their vehicle plate, and complete the payment all through their mobile phone.

NOTE - no other payment methods are available for hourly/daily parking at 180 Argyle Avenue. Payment must be completed upon arrival in order to remain parked in the facility.

If a department wishes to pay for the hourly/daily parking of a visitor or a staff member who is on-site for a meeting, rather than having them pay directly, please contact the Housing Front Desk via 613-237-1320 ext. 0 or christopher.friesen@ymcaottawa.ca to ensure the vehicle is properly registered.

Enforcement
Impark will perform patrols daily through the garage. Patrol does not target parkers, rather ensures that all parkers have followed the rules of use of the facility on each visit. Failure to display your permit or failure to register for your parking session will result in the issuance of a $98.00 parking ticket. Supporting photographs are taken by the Patrol team for every violation notice issued. You may appeal the issuance of any infraction notice by following the instructions on the ticket. Our aim is that no valid parker at 180 Argyle will ever have to appeal a notice.

Multiple violations of the parking rules may result in the removal of your parking access for the facility.
